BJP state president Sat Sharma Sunday said the NIA raids broke the backbone of Hurriyat and by 2022 “we should have Hurriyat free J&K.” NIA raids broke the backbone of Hurriyat. The peace that we see around these days is an outcome of these raids. After the killing of Burhan Wani, things had changed in Kashmir, but by the large efforts of Central government and State government we came out of that trouble and restored peace. We are now on the path of development,” he said. He was speaking at the BJP’s first ever Executive Meet here at SKICC. Sharma said the dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayed and Narendra Modi was to bring peace to the Kashmir valley and every worker of PDP should tirelessly work for that peace initiated by the two great leaders. He asked the party workers to start preparing grounds for the upcoming Panchayat polls as the announcement in this regard would be made by the Election Commission of India anytime soon. “We are yet to open an account in Kashmir valley, but we are hopeful of a good start in the next polls. The enthusiasm I see in the BJP workers of Kashmir is worth appreciating,” he said.
